Voice Services - Tolls FAQs

Is there any set up or ongoing monthly fees involved in joining Kiwilink's Direct Dial Service?

There are NO set up fees involved in joining KiwiLink Calls service.

What is the voice quality like?

Our network is powered by one of the largest communications companies in NZ - so the quality is nothing but superior.

What does flat rate charging mean?

Flat rate charging mean calls are charged at one low rate 24 hours a day 7 days a week. When you make a call at any time you know exactly what you will be charged. No more peak and off peak - because all our rates are off peak!

How are calls charged?

You are charged for the first 60 seconds then on a "one second" basis, even if you use a home line. This will save some home customers who may be being charged on a minute per minute basis.

How can your calling rates be so cheap?

We use large suppliers and have negotiated the best rates possible so we can provide our customers with low cost services. We also keep our overheads down as much as possible. So get your bill emailed to you!

How long will it take to change to your tolls service?

Generally it takes between 24-72 hours to switch your tolls service over to our network. Once your switched over you will receive a welcome call and a Welcome letter in the mail with a copy of our Terms of Service.

If I switch to you, is there a risk that my phone stops working?

NO. You should not notice any changes except for a different colour & lower priced bill at the end of the month!

Will this affect my internet in any way?

No. The process of switching your calling to us cannot affect your dial up or broadband connection.

Will it affect my phone line or smart phone services?

No - these services stay the same.

Can I still use Telecom's 0161 service?

Yes - If you dial 0161 before your number, your call will be priced and billed by Telecom.
