D-Link DVA-G3670B (Wireless VoIP ADSL Router) - Setup

   

The following are instructions on how to configure the DVA-G3670B with Kiwilink.


1. Reset the DVA-G3670B to factory settings (only if necessary)

If the modem has been used, then it is recommended to reset it to factory settings so the previous configurations will not cause any issues.


2. Update Firmware

If there is a new firmware available for this modem then update to the latest firmware (Note: this guide is using Firmware Version: AUS_1.27).


3. Access DVA-G3670B through the web interface

Connect modem to computer and log on to the device using the default IP address 192.168.1.1

User Name: admin
Password: admin


4. INTERNET SETUP

In the SETUP page click on Internet Setup on the left menu

Next click on the Add button to add a WAN/Internet connection

5. ATM PVC CONFIGURATION

Change values to match the following:

VPI [0-255]: 0

VCI [32-65535]: 100

Service Category: UBR Without PCR

Then Click on the Next button


6. CONNECTION TYPE

Change connection type to PPP over ATM (PPPoA)

Encapsulation Mode: VC/MUX

Then Click on the Next button


7. PPP USERNAME AND PASSWORD

Enter the following settings

PPP Username: [Kiwilink customer username]

PPP Password: [Kiwilink customer password]

Authentication Method: Auto

MTU: 1472 [Important: need to be 1492 for EUBA]

Inactivity Timeout (minutes) [1-4320]: 0

Obtain default gateway automatically

Then click on next


8. Network Address Translation Settings

Leave default settings

Enable NAT

Enable Firewall

Enable WAN Service

Service Name: pppoa_0_100_1

Click on next


9. Apply changes

Click on apply to save all the changes

10. Configure Wireless Settings

Go to wireless settings on the left menu > Click on Wireless Basics button

11. Wireless Network Settings

Wireless Network Name (SSID): [enter the username or kiwilink here]

Leave all other settings as default. Changing the country field may cause the router to behave unpredictably so we should just leave it as Australia.

Click apply settings


12. Wireless Security

Click on Wireless Settings on the left menu > then click on Wireless security

Enter the following

Security Mode: WPA (recommended because this mode is compatible with most wireless devices)

WPA Mode: WPA-PSK (Personal)

Group Key Update Interval: 300

Pre-Shared Key: [enter a password here which users will use to access this wireless network]

Apply settings

`13. VoIP Settings (note: these settings only apply to customers that have a VoIP account with Kiwilink)

Click on VOICE tab on the top menu > then in the VoIP Account page, click on Add Account

Add the following settings  : Add Account

SIP number: <kiwilink phone number>  09845xxxx-1   (please add the phone number as how it is appearing )

Auth name: <kiwilink phone number>   09845xxxx-1   (please add the phone number as how it is appearing )

Password:< <kiwilink phone password>  which is: qwe123

Use DNS SRV: enable

Registrar/Proxy: sip.kiwilink.co.nz

Use Domain to Register: enable

SIP Domain: sip.kiwilink.co.nz

Click on apply 


14. Line Settings

Click on Line Settings on the left menu > then click on Configure Line 1 Status

For Line Selection: Select SIP:<Kiwilink phone number>

Click Apply

15. Telephony Setup

There have been issues caused by the G.729 codec so we need to adjust these codec settings below.


Codec Priority & Packet Interval

G.711a-law: 1st

G.711u-law: 2nd

G.723.1: 3rd

G.726: 4th

G.729: no-use

Click Apply to save
